The exam-grade cutoffs given below are the bottom for the "flat" grade, not the minus-grade. (For example, if the cutoff listed for a B is 50 points, then 50 is a B; 49 is a B-.) The A- cutoff is 1/3 of the way down from the A cutoff to the B cutoff, the B+ cutoff is 1/3 of the way up from the B cutoff to the A cutoff, the B- cutoff is 1/3 of the way down from the B cutoff to the C cutoff, etc. (except that I do not give D-'s; anything lower than the D cutoff is an E).Each average and median below was computed from the scores of only those students who took that exam. For example, zeroes for students who missed an exam without an acceptable excuse are not averaged-in.

The class GPA was 2.32. This average includes the E's for two "anomalously still-registered" students who were still on the roster at the end of the semester: one who never showed up for any exam, and one who showed up for one midterm but no other exams. Not counting these two students, the class GPA was 2.53. The class GPA for the last MAP 2302 section I taught (Spring 2016) was 2.44. (There were no "anomalously still-registered" students at the end of that semester.)
