Tips on using Lay's Linear Algebra textbook
-
You should read the author's Note to Students following the
preface; this has some excellent advice. For example, "You must avoid
the temptation to look at ... answers [in the back of the book]
until you have tried to write out the solution
yourself. Otherwise, you are likely to think you understand
something when in fact you do not ."
- At the end of each section are "Practice Problems". You should
try these and then compare your answers to the solutions that appear
after the list of exercises for that section.
